US-based customer and employee experience SaaS platform provider Medallia, Inc has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Thunderhead, a specialist in enterprise technology for real-time interaction management and journey orchestration, the company said.

Medallia said that Thunderhead will strengthen its ability to power individualized journeys and conversations at scale, across all online and offline channels, helping Medallia's thousands of customers continue to increase their brand loyalty, sales, and growth.

Thunderhead technology is relied upon by organizations including the Cleveland Cavaliers, EnBW, and Bosch.

The Thunderhead ONE platform brings together IOT, digital, contact center, and offline interactions to deliver personalized experiences at scale.

The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of this fiscal year.

Goldman Sachs and Co. LLC is serving as exclusive financial advisor to Thunderhead. Kirkland and Ellis LLP is serving as legal advisor to Medallia. Allen and Overy LLP is serving as Thunderhead's legal advisor.

Medallia is in customer, employee, citizen and patient experience.

The company's SaaS platform is Medallia Experience Cloud.

The platform captures billions of experience signals across interactions including all voice, video, digital, IoT, social media and corporate messaging tools.

Medallia uses proprietary artificial intelligence and machine learning technology to automatically reveal predictive insights that drive business actions and outcomes.
