Eni acquires ExxonMobil´s downstream ops in Austria

Italy´s oil and gas major Eni (BIT:ENI) said yesterday it has sealed a deal to acquire the Austrian downstream oil  operations of US sector player ExxonMobil (NYSE:XOM).

The agreement, which was inked by Eni´s subsidiaries Agip Austria and Eni International, concerns a distribution network of 135 filling stations, 36 stations under the Esso brand and commercial activities at the airports in Vienna and Linz, Eni explained.

With the acquisition of Mobil Oil Austria and Esso Austria, subject to regulatory approval, Eni expects to further strengthen its activities in Austria.
