Ingersoll Rand Closes Acquisition of Precision Flow Systems to Accelerate Fluid Management Strategy

17 May 2019 - Ireland-based industrial manufacturer Ingersoll-Rand plc (NYSE: IR) has closed the acquisition of fluid management systems provider Precision Flow Systems (PFS), to expand fluid management strategy, the company said.

Ingersoll acquired PFS for USD 1.45bn from funds advised by BC Partners Advisors L.P. and The Carlyle Group.

At the time of acquisition close, PFS would combine with Swords, Ingersoll Rand's Fluid Management business, which designs, manufactures, and markets pumps for specialised fluid handling applications under the ARO brand. The PFS product portfolio is complementary with Ingersoll Rand's Fluid Management portfolio.

Ingersoll-Rand plc is an Irish–American global diversified industrial manufacturing company formed in 1905 by the merger of Ingersoll-Sergeant Drill Company and Rand Drill Company, rival companies that had each been founded in 1871.

PFS is a provider of fluid management systems, serving mission critical applications including water, agriculture, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and process industries.

PFS generated sales of approximately USD 400m in 2018, has approximately 1,000 employees and operates seven global manufacturing locations.
