Canadian agri-business firm Viterra (TSX:VT) announced yesterday the completion of the acquisition of US 21st Century Grain Processing, without providing financial details.
The deal includes an oat mill in South Sioux City, Nebraska, a wheat mill near Dawn, Texas, and a corporate office in Kansas City, Missouri.
The acquisition forms a good complementary fit into Viterra´s existing oat-milling business and grain network in Canada, the buyer said. Besides, the deal will improve Viterra´s competitiveness and ability to meet the continued growth in demand for healthy food products in North America.
