Platinum Equity Acquires Biscuit International to Increase Momentum in Europe

19 February 2020 - US private equity firm Platinum Equity has acquired Paris-based sweet biscuits manufacturer Biscuit International, to increase large and small cap transactions in Europe, the company said.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Platinum Equity Partner supports Biscuit International's plan to continue expanding its offering and its international reach, both organically and through additional add-on investments.
Rothschild and Co served as financial advisor to Platinum Equity on the acquisition of Biscuit International. Latham and Watkins served as Platinum Equity's legal advisor on the transaction.
Platinum Equity is a global investment firm with more than USD 19bn of assets under management and a portfolio of approximately 40 operating companies that serve customers around the world.
The firm is currently investing from Platinum Equity Capital Partners V, a USD 10bn global buyout fund, and Platinum Equity Small Cap Fund, a USD 1.5bn buyout fund focussed on investment opportunities in the lower middle market.
Biscuit International was created in 2016 by the merger of Groupe Poult and Banketgroep and grew through the acquisitions of A and W Feinbackwaren in Germany, Northumbrian Fine Foods in the UK, Stroopwafel and Co and Aviateur in the Netherlands, and Arluy in Spain.
